HOW sweet it is/

D+G this afternoon, and I just could not get enough. The girls loved the dresses, everyone loves Dominico and Stefano, and hopefully you'll love the photos. Here's a small selection of the collection - a period drama that was fun and brought everyone to the opera:

WU / who?

Three seasons ago, a few of us went to the Jason Wu show wanting to see the new kid with a lot of buzz. Actually, I was shooting for Bumble and bumble and had to be there - but there was buzz and I was genuinely curious.
Fast forward to January and Michelle Obama is wearing one of his pieces on Inauguration Day. Skip another month and Jason Wu is backstage at his Fall 09 show and a whole lot of extra people are watching. They were not disappointed. Here's a few pics below of the fun backstage as the beautiful collection unfolded on the runway. When you see these pieces in stores [6mos from now], remember to take a look at the prints!

DOO.RI / shines

Things that sparkle always catch your eye. This week, it was the shoes at Thakoon, the rings at 3.1 Phillip Lim and the coolest pair of stockings I've ever seen at Doo.Ri. Take a peek / make your own... her team made these in two days. How long will it take you?

ASIAN Import / US Export

Looking back on NY, and it's bit of a blur. Yes, there were more presentations than usual - but still plenty of shows. Among those, of course, a few stand out more than others - and many of the top collections happen to be from Asian Americans. I'm talking specifically about Alexander Wang, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Doo.Ri, and Richard Chai. Here's a few from Alex's show on Feb 14 at the Roseland Ballroom. Let me know what you think:

AMAZING things happen / at 7 in the morning

I met Hanne Gaby Odiele at Vera Wang this morning just after 7am. Both of us blearly eyed, we sat down for a donut and a quick chat. A little over an hour later we completed our model-morphosis.  Click HERE and have a look.

MODEL Morphosis / Amanda Laine

Busy day today, with a notable collection from Marc by Marc and an excellent showing by Rodarte. More to follow, but first: these past few days I've been following Amanda Laine for my model-morphosis blog with the New York Times, T: Style Magazine. Have a look at the story and the new split screen by clicking HERE. For more backstage visit the beauty section on style.com.
