SPREAD the love/

Just after hearing about McQueen, I walked into the Richard Chai Love collection. He knew, but most of the girls and the others around had no idea. The show was fresh and positive, and the plan was to keep it that way. Even as word spread down the lineup, the clothes were that good, that strong. LOVE saved the day.

THEY'RE baaack/

Hello, faithful readers. New York Fashion Week is only a few days away and just walking out of the house yesterday was like walking into a casting call.. The Soho streets were buzzing - and for the girls, the new season has only just begun. Phones blazing with go see directions, bags filled with portfolios and the spoils of last season [sometimes a girl will do a show for trade and only gets the chance to pick up the clothes in exchange the season after the show]. Still, excitement is in the air and already-tired legs on the street. Here are a few of my faves that always bring a light to my eye:

WELCOME / to the dollhouse


Christian Lacroix loves playing dress up with his models. The clothes are so fabulous, so extraordinary, that every girl feels like a princess - or quite literally their own doll. Even backstage, each girl gets her own little stand up dress-box [a doll house if you will].  Inside, the clothes wait on their racks, eager for the teams of dressers to get them ready for the runway - complete with shoes / accessories / hair details / the works.
